1925 Winter storms blow away the grandstand roof. Donations from the local public, and games against Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City provide the club with enough money to avoid bankruptcy.
1926/27 Torquay United became Champions of the Southern League, after declining entry into the FA Cup to concentrate all their efforts on winning League status..
